      • Date of Fall: October 7, 2023
      • Place of Residence: Rishon LeZion, Israel

Eden Naftali, daughter of Rina and Rami and the eldest sister of Aviv, was born and raised in Rishon LeZion. She was a devoted, intelligent, and loving young woman, known for her generous heart and willingness to help those around her. Her mother Rina described her as a “wonder child” with a radiant presence, captivating smile, and pure soul. Eden brought joy wherever she went and was an active and beloved member of her youth movement, “HaNoar HaOved VeHaLomed.”

After graduating from Makif Tet High School in Rishon LeZion, Eden enlisted in the IDF and served as an instructor for surveillance soldiers and drones in the Combat Intelligence Corps. Upon her release, she began studying for a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Business Administration at the College of Management, where she excelled and completed two successful years. She also gained experience in journalism, working for “Israel Bidur,” where her talents were quickly recognized.

Eden was a gifted musician who played the piano and deeply loved music. She saw music as a form of personal expression and healing. Her compassion led her to volunteer with children with special needs, striving to make music accessible and empowering for them. Her musical passion was tightly woven with her caring nature and her desire to help children enhance their cognitive, emotional, and social skills through music.

On October 7, 2023, during the terrorist attack by Hamas as part of the Iron Swords War, Eden and her partner Idan Herman z”l were murdered at the Nova music festival near Kibbutz Re’im. As they tried to flee and found shelter in a bomb shelter, terrorists attacked and killed them both.

Eden was laid to rest in the Holon Cemetery.

Project Description:
The project envisions the creation of a musical center in memory of Eden Naftali z”l, offering children with ADHD and special needs a chance to learn, grow, and experience joy through music. The center will integrate both therapeutic and experiential music activities, with tailored programs aimed at improving the children’s cognitive, emotional, and social development.

Children will be able to participate in enriching and empowering activities including instrumental lessons, singing, rhythm, and movement. The center will also host educational workshops and sessions with professional therapists specializing in work with special-needs populations. The goal is to make music a meaningful and accessible therapeutic tool, within a supportive environment that nurtures each child’s unique potential.

This initiative adopts a progressive therapeutic approach, creating an inclusive and uplifting space where music serves as a powerful medium for self-expression and development. The center is a realization of Eden’s vision to use music as a bridge, a source of strength, and a way to uplift and empower.

Eden’s love for music and her volunteer work with children with special needs were core elements of her life. This project honors her spirit, values, and legacy by providing children with the same love and tools she gave—through the power of music.
