• Place of residence: Ra’anana, Israel

Moshe Avraham Baron was born in Paris, France, to his parents David-Didier and Marilyn Miriam.
Brother to four sisters: Salome, Faige, Rivka, and Bat Sheva. At the age of 7, he made Aliyah to Israel and grew up in Kfar Saba, where he was educated in religious-Zionist institutions.
In November 2018, he enlisted in the Golani Brigade and advanced through all command levels: squad commander, platoon commander, deputy company commander, and training company commander. Throughout his service, Moshe excelled as an outstanding professional and beloved commander, who impacted his soldiers through his humane approach, uncompromising care for each one of them, and his ability to lead by personal example.
During his service, he met his partner, Louisa.

At the outbreak of the war on October 7, 2023, Moshe led his company as part of Battalion 51 (Golani) into combat in Gaza. On the morning of his fall, December 12, 2023, he and his soldiers uncovered weapons, maps, and Hamas tunnel shafts, and helped neutralize them. In the evening, during a clash in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, he led his soldiers to rescue a trapped force and fell in battle while protecting his troops with his body.
Moshe is buried in the military section of Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
He was 23 years old at the time of his fall.

“Moshe’s Rock” – a living memorial space in honor of Major Moshe Baron z”l.
The site will serve Golani soldiers for team evenings, experience processing workshops, retreat days, and bonding activities, based on the importance of connection, support, and care among fighters – values strongly identified with Moshe’s character.
In this space, soldiers will be able to pause, connect, process experiences, and recharge with strength for the journey ahead, in the spirit of his path and legacy.

Moshe’s boundless love for his soldiers, his concern for their personal and mental well-being, and his belief that human connection is the key to moral and strong combat – stand at the heart of this project.
